Yes, table service, but take your check to the counter to pay after.
Great service, great food. Was pleasantly surprised. Pictured is miso ramen, shrimp crab roll, pork bulgogi, and pork bibimbop.
MoreI always check out local ramen places when traveling and I have to say this is probably one of the best ramen I’ve had. Amazing noodle texture and creamy broth.
MoreNice, clean, comfortable decor. Small, cozy place. Got the miso ramen and pork buns. Pork buns well presented but a little bland. Ramen was filling, noodles had a nice bite and chew. Broth was tasty but didn't blow me away. I love ramen and will go back to try some other options.
MoreGood food & friendly staff
Best restaurant in Ithaca! The kimchi and tantan ramen is always consistent and delicious! Very happy that they also serve soju!
MoreAfter strolling around Cornell U for 4 hours, Maru Ramen is just perfect 4 this cold autumnal evening. We ordered Spicy Seafood ramen & Tori ramen & dumplings, and they don't disappoint at all. Happy tummy, happy night.
MoreReally quick service. Serve is very nice. Clean restaurant. Ramen was very good too.
MoreOK, I’m just going to say it…this was the best ramen I have ever had!! I ate the tofu ramen with the vegetarian broth. It was stocked full of flavor that just wouldn’t quit! Our server had a really funny sense of humor too lol I highly recommend this place!
MoreIt was our first time at this place. Food was good and staff was friendly. Wish there were more beverage options in the menu.
MoreTheir vegan food has improved a lot since they opened! A busy place, but not too loud. Pretty quick!Holding one star back because the menu doesn't explicitly mark what's vegan.
MoreI have to say this was one of the most satisfying meals I've had in the past 5 years. I love ramen houses. I love the atmosphere, fresh noodles and the rich dashi. I have only been there a few times now so I have only had the please of a few types of their ramen but they all have been extremely satisfying. I highly recommend this place.
MoreI wouldn't necessarily call it "authentic" but it's definitely good ramen!
Fabulous little Japanese ramen place well worth a visit. Quality of the noodles and broth similar to the high quality stuff you find in Japan. Very reasonably priced.
MoreAbsolutely AMAZING!! Some of the best Ramen I have ever had! Fantastic and friendly service! The pickled radish is to die for! Our table tonkutso and miso vegetable ramen. The miso veggie ramen was so flavorful and yummy! Definitely recommend!
MoreRidiculously fast service, great ramen, tasty matcha donuts topped with green tea ice cream. Good times all around.
MoreDelicious ramen served here. Was offered picked daikon radish on the house, they were done in a bread and butter style. Pictured below are our ramen dishes, spicy chicken and pork belly. Food was brought very quickly, noodles are house made, everything was delicious. We will be returning soon for some more of the tasty fare served here.
MoreI had their bao, ramen, and hot sake. Great location to stop by for winter time. Food is great quality. Myself as deaf customer, no problem with their service to understand my request from food menu. Do recommend everyone who likes ramen to stop by there. Please don't forget to check out liquid state brewery while you are in the area.
MoreGreat taste and plenty of vegetarian selection
Overall very good appearance interior wise and the food was pretty decent. Although only one piece of pork in the tonkatsu ramen seems like less than you deserve. But hey it tasted great and was super clean!
MoreReally good and authentic ramen place. I tried a healthy green noodle option that was very good and we got the green tea ice cream for dessert.
MoreCozy spot, got in immediately without calling in/making a reservation and found a spot right outside. Everything was great. We both got Ramen, forget what we had before main. Some saki type of drink and a milk tea.
MoreVery good place to eat. Pork buns are different compared to all the other ramen places I've been to but they were still really good. I ordered the Tori ramen (spicy chicken ramen) and it was really good and nice and spicy.
MoreFriendly service, delicious ramen.
Authentic interesting food in a stylish quiet dining area
Fast and courteous service with delicious food
We all loved the food. It came out quickly, served hot. Under $100 for 5 people which included libations.
MoreWe are newbies to the Ramen World having recently had it in Santa Monica while visiting our daughter. We were pleased to see there was an option for the same in Ithaca. In a word, both the food and the service were excellent. We had tantanmem and beef bulgogi. Both a mouthful of great flavor. We will definitely be back. Interesting side note: Got talking with an Asian couple at our neighboring table. They had driven from Syracuse just to eat there. They said The 'Cuse had nothing that even came close. So....there ya have it!
MoreEasily the most amazing ramen experience I've ever had. I had a bowl of Tonkotsu, which was a pork ramen. Clearly made with fresh homemade noodles, which worked perfectly with their robust and flavorful broth. Even the soft-boiled egg was well-seasoned. The price was a little high than I would've liked, but the dish itself was well worth it. It was also pretty on point for being in the downtown Ithaca area. Finally the staff was very friendly, as each and every person said thank you and bid us farewell was we left. Great experience, definitely will be returning.
MoreReally good ramen, they don't offer forks at the table but it's ok to ask. Staff is super kind and helpful with good suggestions.
MoreThis is a great place to get a quick bite. I was seated and served in 5 minutes flat. I knew what I wanted which certainly saved time. Food is already made up with homemade broth and noodles and pork so the only thing left is assembly which was quick. The half a soy sauce egg in my ramen was definite from the fridge, the middle was cold, but the texture was nice anyway. Broth was rich without being too fatty which is a plus and the noodles had a great bite to them. I got a bowl of pork ramen and a pork bun and both were excellent. They also give 5% off if you pay cash and take tap pay. I'll be coming here again if I'm in the area.
MoreThe place was very crowded in the evening. The wait time was close to 30 mins, but it was totally worth it. Ramen was flavorful, probably the best i have ever had. P.S its coming from a guy who lives in new york city. Everything was so good for this place, servers were nice and friendly and the place itself is very clean!
MoreBoth the noodle and the broth were really good. The ingredients in the ramen bowl were all fresh and tasted good. The service was quick and the staff was also very friendly.
Morereally tasty and cute vibes! will say that that the vegan noodles are super slippery and as i’m bad with chopsticks anyways i had a bit of trouble, but overall very delicious and accommodating.
MoreThe ramen was nice but a bit plain. Perhaps they made the soup from the scratch? It was not authentic, compared to the noodles I ate in Japan.
MoreOne of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Period! The Tori is fantastic and not too spicy.
MoreFantastic place, love ramen noodles and this place didn't disappoint... Definitely coming back ðŸ‘
Moregot throat ache and sick after had the noodle. Was said non-spicy on the menu, but actually spicy. won’t order again
MoreBest Ramen dishes! Very clean, great service and affordable. If you like ramen this is a must visit in Ithaca.
MoreThe hussel and bussel of this of this place definitely gave us a hint that it was going to be good. As a first timer this was not off-putting at all! Great atmosphere sitting at the bar. We were anticipating our food so much that we ate all our Tempura shrimp sushi in a heartbeat! The purple rice and expertly rolled sushi were gorgeous and had a taste to match. Pictured are our ramen bowls which, by appearance, speak for themselves.
MoreSoup is not too salty with sea weed base and has plenty of veggie for miso vegetarian ramen!!
Morecomfort ramen.. friendly staff. nice ambience..the lady begind the counter is Super nice..we had miso ramen, bulgogi side of kimchi and nice sake. absolutely recommend
MoreWonderful, friendly fast service. Very accommodating and they made us feel welcomed! The owner noticed my son was done with his meat and veggies, and gave him a side of rice to go with his unfinished broth. Too kind!
MoreLove it. Savory broth, nice presentation, friendly staff. Just what Ithaca needs for warming up during the long winter.
MoreReally nice dinner.Walking in, it's an inviting noodle shop: large wooden counter with stools (they also have tables), bank of giant stock pots on the stove in the kitchen, the scent of shitake and broth in the air, fabulous! We took a table in the window, above the sidewalk looking out on a rainy evening.Food was great, service was great, casual and comfortable, I left satisfied but not overstudlffed, I will return for more of that real ramen soup. (Note: edit to this post was just fixing a typo...)
MoreGreat food, awesome service! We had a group of 16 people on a Sunday night, and they were super accommodating. Our food (ordered a little chaotically in multiple rounds) and drinks all came very quickly, and were all too notch. We'll definitely be back soon!
MoreRamen here is subpar. There's so much msg in the Tonkotsu broth that I ended up drinking two bottles of water after I left. They also gave us the wrong order in the beginning. We started to eat and they came over and took our ramen away. Hopefully they threw them out and didn't just hand them over to the other customers...
MoreI was quite surprised to be able to find such an authentic ramen experience in a small town. I ordered the tonkotsu ramen and pork tonkatsu rice dish.Pork tonkatsu was cooked perfectly with a thick piece of pork and a crispy outer layer that is not overly oily with a fresh peanut sauce salad on the side and a bowl of purple Korean rice. All of them were well portioned for its price - $12Tonkotsu ramen has a creamy rich soup base that with noodles that felt like they were freshly made. I would want a bit more noodles myself but it was delicious nonetheless. Price for the ramen - $12If anyone has seen the anime “Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma,†this food experience would give me a foodgasm. *clothing bursts out of my body while tears of joy on this amazing dish*lolI highly recommend this place and this is someone that’s been all around the world eating Asian foods.
MoreSaw the reviews for Maru and I was craving ramen so naturally we made the stop here. The Tonkatsu was great. Full of flavor with everything you can want in a ramen. The broth is where the money is and this broth delivered. It was full of porky goodness and not overly rich. My wife ordered the Tori which is the shredded chicken in chicken broth. Personally I’m not a fan chicken broth, it’s a little overpowering, but the wifey enjoyed it so I’m happy. The chicken buns were delicious as well. The owner was very friendly and was very apologetic because we had a reservation, but he was unable to seat us because there was a wait out the door. It’s pretty decent for a small town ramen place.
MoreDelightful new Ramen place. Decent vegetarian options. No liquor license yet so pop across the street to Liquid State and pick up a crawler of fresh beer.
MoreGreat place. Very authentic Ramen, with great soup stock base. We ordered the original Tonkotsu and the spicy seafood. Both excellent choices.
